Lafede

Short bio

Lafede is a Barcelona-based architect. In 2002, she started her professional career in Interior Design and Retail Design and the same time began working as a design teacher.

After six years of regular collaboration with Custo Barcelona, she became the fashion brand’s Retail Projects Director. Her responsibilities included designing, producing and maintenance of the brand’s shops, corners and outlets in the United States, South America, Saudi Arabia and Europe, carrying out more than 20 projects per year.

With more than 40 realised projects, she is considered to be an expert in Retail and Lighting Design. Her strong points are coherent spatial distribution analysis, well-adapted furniture design, paying careful attention to the choice of materials, and considered control of lighting systems.

Until October 2010, she collaborated with the lighting brand IGuzzini, in Madrid and Barcelona, as consultant in Retail Interior Design for the creation of a new publication dedicated to lighting in retail spaces.

Currently she teaches at the Instituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Barcelona and at the Technical University of Madrid. Before that she was sub-director at the postgraduate study “Design, Image & Architecture” at the ELISAVA Barcelona School of Design and Engineering and architectural project tutor at the Universitá di Architettura de Alghero.

In January 2012, she opened Studiostore to dedicate herself completely to developing and carrying out concepts and spaces for brands and retail companies as well as for professional and domestic areas specialized in low-budget projects.

Studiostore provides not only interior and lighting projects, custom-made furniture and products, retail corner projects, trade fair stands, but also offers visual merchandising, art direction, classes and conferences.

Her latest realised projects include a cool-hunting furniture research for Desigual, a lighting project for the new Kling Shop in Barcelona, and the visual display furniture for the sunglasses brand Sheriff&Cherry.
